After this “Game of Thrones thing”, writer George R. R. Martin has received a lot of propositions to make new series with his books, and it looks like one of them if finally going to happen: the television series adaptations of his novella Nightflyers.
According to Variety, SyFy is about to sign the contract to produce this new project, with Dan Cerone (The Mentalist) as showrunner. Also, it has surfaced that the cable channel is looking forward to colaborate with Netflix on the distribution.
The series will be based in the 1980’s novella and its film adaptation from 1987. This is the official plot of the novella:
It is the future, on the eve of Earth’s destruction and follows a group of explorers on the most advanced ship in the galaxy, The Nightflyer, to intercept a mysterious alien spacecraft that might hold the key to their survival.
